Our Land
The vineyards
Our vineyards have adapted to the local climate and terrain over the past 70 years, becoming an integral part of the surrounding landscape.
Our mission is to respect the rhythms and needs of the vineyard by practising sustainable viticulture.
Under-vine areas are kept clean by using mechanical methods to avoid the use of chemical herbicides
In our older vineyards, vine shoots are still tied using the traditional “stroppa” technique involving willow branches. In the others, biodegradable twine is used instead
We use next-generation equipment to optimise treatments, minimising both runoff and product drift. We prioritise the use of treatments permitted in organic farming practices
Fertilisation is organic and includes manure sourced from local farms that avoid silage and prioritise animal welfare

The terroir
Our wines are an expression of our unique and distinctive terroir, which is ideallysuited to viticulture:
The climate is moderated by mountain breezes descending from the Asiago plateau. The pronounced diurnal temperature range and optimal sun exposure allow the vines to absorb warmth during the day and rest during the cooler nights. This natural rhythm promotes aromatic concentration and supports photosynthesis. The hilly terrain ensures ideal humidity levels by allowing rainwater to drain downhill naturally.
The Brenta River and the protective mountain range behind us act as a natural barrier, shielding the vineyards from harsh winds and potentially damaging cloud formations.
Over the centuries, the river has shaped the soil by depositing gravel and alluvial sediments along its course. This results in excellent soil permeability: water seeps deep into the ground, keeping the surface dry enough to encourage the development of concentrated grape aromas.
Doc Breganze
We are based in Bassano del Grappa, a town in the province of Vicenza, that boasts a rich history and tradition. This charming town attracts an ever-growing number of visitors, who are drawn by the wide range of sporting, cultural, and culinary experiences on offer. Nestled at the foot of the majestic Dolomites and just 70 km from the Adriatic Sea, our location is scenic and strategically placed. As well as appealing to travellers, the Bassano area is home to an abundance of high-quality local products and a long winemaking tradition. It is precisely this tradition that led to the creation of the Breganze DOC in 1969, a designation to which Cantina Zoe has proudly adhered since 2022. Though small, the denomination has a strong identity and produces truly distinctive wines thanks to its diverse microclimates and geology.
The landscape consists of high, rolling hills that rise towards the mountains, where vineyards are interspersed with woodlands, orchards, natural springs, and walled little towns.
This is a land of great beauty and rich history, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
